Interested in previous comments on cleaning coral.Algae in my 55g. has changed color from a reddish-brn. to lately, charcoal/blk.Is this an indicator of water quality?I'm on the tail end of a copper treatment cycle, and thought this could be the reason. When I cleaned the coral with a fish-only brush and water, it loosened the algae but the dingy color remained. I don't use bleach. How important is it for water quality/healthy fish to remove algae?
