Like the title says? Any ideas?
Current stock list;
3 holloween hermits(good at eating algae on the rocks)
3 blue legg hermits( same thing, but there to tiny)
7 Nassarius snails (IMO useless all they do is burry themselves in the sand and sit there.)
1 Cerith snail
1 cleanner shrimp
1 green cromis(tester fish)
I need soemthing to move around my sand bed and eat powder like green algae growing on it.

I think it would be safe to put one in your tank then. Just watch for any sudden changes in the ph and salinity that may harm the starfish.

there prettry stable. My tanks large enough for a sand sifting star? Also what about those red sea stars? Do they do the same or are they more for decoration? I like the red sea stars alot but not sure if I can house one.

Your tank is too small for a sand sifting star. It will eat all of the micro-fauna in your sandbed and then starve. The algae you are describing sounds like diatoms. They are common in new tanks and will go away with time. Increasing flow may speed up this process. The nass. snails are great for aerating your sand and will come out of the sand to eat any meaty food that your livestock miss. The algae could also be cyano which is caused by high nutrients and lack of flow. A pic would help in identifying it but I'd bet diatoms.

Its neither of those. I know what both look like and what they are. I had dit in my tank and still do. Also both of those arent algae there bacterias from what I've been reading. This is acctaully green fine powdery algae.
