algae help

30 gallon tank has been cycling almost a week now. I have brown algae covering the top of the sand. Will it go away or should i grab a cleanup crew?

this is called diatoms algae... do a search on it and you'll find tons of useful info.

Yep diatoms, you are seeing the dead remains of diatoms. Perfectly normal, as long as you are using RO/DI water they should go away in time. When you are through with your cycling a cleanup crew can help.
