Recently set up our first FOWLR tank, a 75 gal with some live rock and a juvie picasso trigger.
Things going good except we have a HUGE red slime & hair algae problem. The stuff is growing everywhere, I can't have a cleaning crew 'cause the trigger will eat them for a snack. I clean the glass with a magfloat but the next morning it's covered again. I can't even see my live rock they just look like fuzzy red/green blobs.
Any advice? Currently have just 2 48" NO daylight bulbs, 6500k. Should we change the lighting to help reduce algae growth?
All of the FOWLR tanks I've seen here are clean and awesome looking - how do you all do it? Had this new tank up for 2 months and it's just causing us grief. Our reef tank is a piece of cake compared to this (the snails and hermits help of course). Help!
