Algae on the brain.

I've got a red brain that I special ordered in to my LFS. I hate buying stuff site unseen but I gave it a try. I got to the store the same time the shipment showed up and took it directly home in the bag it was shipped. Well.....typical LFS quality.....the brain had its skeleton exposed on like half of it. Its been like a month or better now.....the brain is looking much better and the skin is filling in nicely. My question is....on the one part where the skeleton was exposed....there is algae growing. Do I need to try to remove that or will I just cause more damage?

it doesnt look good from the pic. but if u r saying its getting better, then the tissue will eventually grow towards the outside. dont touch it since doing so will irritate and stress it more.
