It depends...give us the peramites of your tank.
size, rock/how mwny #'s, substrate, filtration etc, etc.

75 gal, filtration(wet&dry)& skimmer that can handle twice the size, NO live rock, argi live sand (8olbs) tufa&lava rock, 2 dominos, 3 damsels

How long has it been setup? It would definitly help if you had some LR in there...I have about 60-65# in my 55gal...It took about 3mths to get the "good" algae...I had several outbreaks of the nasty green algae because my lights stayed on for too long...hope that helps..:)

Not quite sure what kind of algae you are talking about here.
With nothing in the tank but tufu & lava rock, and bagged "live" sand - there will be little if any chance for coralline.
You may get some diatoms or bluegreen cynobacteria - but if you "want" algae - it has to come from somewhere.
What type of algae are you waiting for ?

i want decortave algae or red/green... i need some color. i have fake plants in there now. i'll be happy with red.... :)

well today i noticed brown algae...( <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> ) i hope the green starts to take over soon!!!
