algae problem

my tank has been up a running for 1 and a half weeks. i used bio spira to help cycle. i currently have 4 damsels in the tank. anyways in the last 3 days i have a had a massive amount of red algae all over my substrate and one piece of live rock is about 50% covered. what can i do to stop this algae. ive already limited the amount of light.thanks in advance

Nothing. It is a part of a new tank, as as your levels come down, your algae will too. Right now, the nitrates are feeding it. What kind of water are you putting into the tank? If it is tap, it will contain phosphates. Either switch to RO/DI or get a phosphate remover like a refugium or RowaPhos media.
