Algae question

Ok, bought a used tank which was filthy and way overstocked, well it came with some base and live rock. There was tons of algae coverig the rocks and tank. I scrubbed the tank completely but scrubbing the rocks didnt go well. After doing some research I done think its a good thing. Looking at the pics,
what kind of algae is it?
What can I do to get rid of it? - Scrub - with what? Any animals to get to eat it?
Thanks.

I guess since the tank you got was used, the rock is live and long cured. Why would you want to scrub this?
After a while most rock will look like what you have. Take a visit to a LFS with reef tanks and see what they have.
Don't complain about the rock you have. It is your biological filter.

Ok, so, this dark reddish algae is ok for the tank? I just didn't want it to take over my new tank. As long as its not bad for the fish, I'm, ok with it. Thanks.
