If it is kind is snotty/stringy it could be either Cyanobacteria or dinoflagellates. Does it go away when it is dark and come back when the lights come on? If just a dark coating like Jay I'd say diatoms.

Seems to grow more where lights hit.

It's cyano.

try some chaeto and adjusting lights so cheato thrives and this doesn't.

Light out will help.
