I'm just getting set up for a future reef tank and want to get my arsenal of supplies for potential problems 1st.
Since algea is a common problem, what are the best additives to use that wont hurt the reef and it's critters?
I heard the magnetic scrapers work wonders. Is this true and if they do, can you use them on acrylic tanks?

You best defense against algae is a good offence. Once you have your LR in your tank and its in week 2 of curing order you clean up crew for online, if getting it through LFS get it late week to or early week 3 or even sooner if you Nitrites are on there way down. The key is to get a good jump on the algae. If it starts to grow faster than the clean up crew can clean cut back your lighting and feeding for a few days.
Remember when getting a cleaning crew to get one for each part of the tank. Scarlet crabs will pick over LR all day, Bumble Bee snail will go to work on glass, as will most snails, Some hermits will pick through your sand witch is very important since that were food and waist breaks down.
