I have a question for you re: algae (green hair in particular). I know that algae needs lights & nutrients to grow & my question is: it has been mentioned that one way to kill off algae is to cut back on lighting, i.e., cut back on your total photoperiod or shut off a couple bulbs. In one of the posts recently something was said about bulbs being old, not enough lighting, etc., may have been contributing to the algae problem. I guess I'm confused & need some input. If you replace the bulbs w* new ones or, upgrade your lighting system, couldn't you conceivably have an algae problem* add to one because of the brighter lights?? I'm considering upgrading my lighting system & have a "green hair" algae problem (still)at the moment. Would like to get clear on this cuz I sure as h--- don't need any more problems!! )=)= Thanks ~ Chess
