Algae

I ran across a product on the net that eliminates algae in your fish tank mand does not harm invert or fish? Has anyone heard of "Bi-culture" it only takes 1 oz. to treat a 55 gal tank for a year. It states it takes care of all types.

Would have to see it to believe it. I think it would be harmful or not work in some way. Water changes will slowly remove it unless it does something to the slime layer in the tank.

I have never heard of it, but I would be more than a little worried about a product that removed ALL algae. I would rather have a good clean up crew and maybe an algae eating fish in my tank. There is a benifit to having some algae in your tank, so I would not want to get rid of it all.
Or is there some part of this post that i am misunderstanding?

I have used other algae destroyers (in FW tank) and it did absolutely nothing except remove $5 dollars from my wallet.....
Granted it was not the same product, but quick fixes either don't work, make you co-dependent, or cause more problems.
If it sounds to good to be true... it is....
