Algea control

I want to try and cut my lights off for awhile to see if it will control my algea. If I only turn off the daylights and leave the Blue actnics on will that help or should I leave all lights off except for the LEDs? Will it hurt the fish to leave them off for a few days?

This is my opinion on that (I am prepared to be disagreed with). I turn my lights off for 2-3 days each month. It doesn't hurt the corals and when I turn them back on my water is absolutely pristine. But I also make sure the fuge light is on 24/7 during this time for stable pH...but that shouldn't matter too awful much. I feel that even the ocean has its cloudy days. It definitely will not hurt your fish to leave them off, but if you leave them off for too long it can hurt can photosynthetic creatures...corals. This IS NOT a solution for algae though. If you have algae problems, you need to find the source and correct that. If you need help finding your algae sources post more info like params and what not. If you have incredibly small amounts of algae...then lights out COULD serve as a permanent solution...but that's very case sensitive. Good luck and without corals...it couldn't hurt.
