So my tank has been running for a while. It is established. If you look I upgraded from a 55 to a 180.
I have a 3 x 150w MH light with 4x96w Actinics, but only 2 of the MH's are working right now. I went through the cyano and all that is gone, but now I am having trouble keeping green algea in check. I scrape it all of the glass and withing 2-3 days it is back.
I run the Actinics for 3 hours, then MH's for 7, then actinics for another 3. All my levels are unremarkable.....0 ammonia, trites, trates, phosphates; SG of 1.027; the only thing is that my alk is low....it seems to always be low.
So what is the reason for these algea outbreaks and what can I do to stop them??
I never had this problem in my 55, but I also didn't have MH's on the 55.
