Algea ques?

OK i have cyano in my 12 gallon and i just started using ro/di water and make sure i dont over feed so i was think that i could leave the lights off for a full day to get rid of most of the algea. But the thing is i have corals so would this be a good idea? I was think one day wouldnt hurt them.

One day won't hurt.try syphoning as much of it as you can get out as well.Good luck..it's tough to get rid of.Try one solution at a time,so you know what erradicates it.
