Algea scraping question

I have had a lot of green and red coraline algea on my glass recently and the crappy scrubber i had wasnt getting it off, so yesterday I bought one of those with the stainless steel blade on it and it worked great. My question is what happens to all that algea that i scraped off? I scraped off a ton. Does it mess up the water? It is all cleared up this morning and the tank looks great but im just worried by scraping that much off in one shot was too much.
Thanks

Usually when you scrape off coraline algae the spores go into the water colum and you actually end up growing more coraline where the spores land...

Usually I run a siphon in my tank to the sump and suck out all the algae I scrape off. The hose goes into some pantyhose that catches all the large parts- not too sure if the spores go back into the tank but it seems to work well.
