hello! on my salt water and tropical fish tank i have some white spots appearing on the inside glass and my gravel/ornaments are starting to appear a "rusty" brown colour, i uploaded a picture of the white spots on the glass (picture if quiet blurry due to having to turn my flash off to see the spots)
wondering what causes this and how i can treat it? (scrubbing fails when it keeps coming back!) my room is normally quite dark with no direct sunlight and my tank lights havent been on much lately.. thanks to any replies

assuming this is a new tank, those would be diatoms.
they will go away on thier own after a few weeks of it getting thicker and thicker.
a more concerning visual is all those microbubbles you have blowing around in there.
I'd get that taken care of ASAP

yea, solve the micro bubbles first.
brown + new tank = diatoms
white + new tank = micro feather dusters
check here for more hitchhikers in your tank -> http://www.lionfishlair.com/hitchhiker/hitchhiker.shtml
edit :
check your skimmer, if you have one, and see if it is dumping bubbles into your tank.
else, check the return pump on your sump and see if it is adding bubbles into the tank.

I dont have a protein skimmer and I dont actually know what a sump is... my filter is just pumping out lots of bubbles?

usually happens when a pump or something is not getting the water it would like to have. so its mixing part water and part air instead of all water.
Can't say thats the case here, but that's been my experience.
