All I want for X-Mas is to SEE my anenome

I have read a few other posts on here but I feel the need to ask one more time. I got my first bta anemone on Thursday night and thing is frigin beautiful. I placed him in my 55g on my live rock in , what I thought, was the "perfect spot". Within an hour he was climbing up the rock and descending towards the back of my tank. The next morning I woke up and he was behind my live rock.....barely visible. This beautiful thing is comfortable in the worst spot ever......behind my rock.

Now the last thing I want to do is screw with my rock work.....I finally have it set up exactly how I want it. I have heard some people say I can put a power head close to it and try and make it move. I feel if I do this, and it moves and I put my power head back, it is just going to move right back to that spot....am I right? I am pretty sure that would stress the hell out of him as well. And I don't want to try and grab him and move him for the same reason. Someone please tell me that I am just too impatient!!! It has been 4 days and he likes it back there......but I don't like him back there. Do I give it more time?? Do I show him who's boss, hahaha?
Please don't just read over my post....please throw some advice for me to read. Thanks in advance!!

I would just leave him alone for a while and see. I put both of my sebae's where I THOUGHT they would be happy, of course they stayed there for about a week then started moving. One went in behind a ship, stayed there, but I removed the ship and added a bunch more LR and then moved the sebae again where I wanted him. He actually has stayed there now for about 2 months. I did move a rock by him and he started down the rock, back up the rock and then right back to where I had placed him. :hilarious
The other one stayed put where I put it for about 2 months, started moving, went around the rock, through the cave and then ended back almost to the place where I put him when I got him.....so right now both are actually within a few inches of where I wanted them.
If it were me I would just wait and see. People's anemone seem to move around alot when they first get them.

i'd definitely wait...my sebae did that as well, crazy thing went down behind my rock...i tore down part of the rock to get him out...stupid idea, it sucks to try and aquascape just the way you had it....lol...just be patient

i waited for a week, i put the powerhead next to it for a week, and i finally had to dismantle my aquascape to get it out of the back of my tank. it did though find a sweet spot inside a hollow devils head rock in the front of my tank, and i was able to move the rock to a spot with more light, and it's stayed there for 2 weeks so far. you may have to move the rock to get it out of the back of the tank.
mind you it is very difficult to physically move an anenome without damaging their foot. this is where the powerhead really comes in handy. i had a smaller rock mine could move onto while blowing the powerhead at it from the opposite side.

This morning I got frustrated and I took my Rio 600 and pointed it right at it about 8-10 inches aways or so. He has not budged and only started to shrivel up.....this is what my girlfriend is telling me at least, as she is at home right now. How long do you guys think I should keep the powerhead pointed at him for? Until he moves? I think if I would have done this all over and done what everyone has told me, RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASE, I would have bought a torch. Those are pretty cool.
Thanks guys for the help so far!

That's all I want too!! My brand new GBTA is wedged in a cave! I can't believe there's enough light in this cave at the back of my tank to make him happy, but he hasn't moved for 72 hours. Any thoughts?

Patience patience patience, there has been many a anemone that has gone into hiding in a new home. They all seem to come out when they are ready to. They to need to acclimate to their surrounding.
Maybe after a couple of weeks place power head on them and see if you can get them to move. But I would wait until they have been your tanks for a while.

So this morning I woke up and after 24 hours of my powerhead being directly on my bta, and he is still just hanging out there???? Why the hell is he not moving? Do you guys suggest I put the powerheads back where they were??

...he hates you, plain and simple....
does he have an escape route that doesnt force him to move into the current to go somewhere else?

Not particularly smart, that could stress it out. Mine should you want to know, Move from where I placed him almost immediately, around the spot he permanently(hopeful 3mo and counting) calls home, and stayed behind my rock for a week and a half, nearly squashed. Then it moved out, and the rock it was on, which was a loose rock, very small thogh, it fell, and I then moved it to its now permanent home. MOVE THE PH

DUDE UR NOT LISTENING! You should just leave him be. HE will move, He prob doesnt like where he is. If you get frustrated enough, turn the rock he is on around. Youll prob kill him with what you are doing now.

I'd say just leave him alone. I'd also take the powerhead off of him, as it might either hurt him or make him really dig in his heels (in a manner of speaking)--only in the sense that he might not be to apt to move around while being blasted.
Give him time and hope for the best. My BTA stuck himself inside a cave for a week or two after I got him, but eventually started coming out. Now he's been planted in a great position for months. But you really can't force it, and you might hurt him trying.

I moved the rock around last night and when I woke up this morning he was still there....in the front of my tank. He looks perfect right now and hope he has not moved himself when I get home today from work.
