all who know the bottle trap

Im trying to catch sally still and I was just wondering if I can staple the top of the bottle that I cut off into the inside of the bottle, or if it would be better to use tape. Or what should I use

I wouldn't use anything metal.

Not sure what u are talking about but why not try taking another bottle and cut a small peice in a small circle and then cut a hole the center like spikes or something like that that might work well and then just tape that plasctic peice on the bottle that way its like a trap and will get poked if they come back out. not sure if this helps but its worth a try.

I just used tape. Wide clear packing kind. Not sure if the crab can crawl on the slippery plastic. Might want to lay a rock path or sandy rubble leading into the bottle so it can walk in.

I was able to wedge it in to where the top stayed without any sort of tape or glue. I used a water bottle that had a shape that made this possible.
However if you have to, use superglue gel.

Thanks Im just really frustrated cuz these two little devils have killed my lawn mower blenny and my watchman goby. Ya big bummer. Thanks all should I put a silver side in the bottle or will mysid shrimp work what would you all suggest
