Alltime new low or high, depends on how you look at it.

Argh, huff, snort........I've been obsessing over getting a Tyree Watermellon
chalice, I realize that it's a $$ coral, I've seen .5" frags for $225+ range. I found one that I was bidding on and the final price was $325 + shipping, needless to say I was not the high bidder as $200 was about my limit. Why is it so much hype around "Tyree" I mean $325 for a HALF INCH frag is crazy

There is alot of cool looking stuff coming from there, I guess it's coloration and probably the name. Wow, that was alot for a 1/2" frag, 200 is way too steep for this poor boy. No more than 100 is about my limit for a frag and that would take some self coaxing.

IMO in this case I don't think the high price is due to Tyree's name being stamped on it, but because it's just so darn beautiful. There's a lot of similar "non-tyree" watermelons that go for almost the same price, but the Tyree original is the best looking. I usually don't go after chalices, but this one really caught my attention. The only two echinophyllias that I have are both Tyree watermelons. :)

I know, they are the best in terms of aquaculture and keeping the color, but somebody has to have a walmart version...LOL
