i just read your post that you got 300 pounds of live sand. that wont be enough for your tank. as i have 290 pounds of sand in mine, and i dont have as deep of a sand bed as i would've liked. your tank is also a foot longer than mine, so you will have even less. mine ranges from like 3-5 inches depending on the area. if i were you, buy some more sand.

yes that is correct ,
however sice i put my live rock on top of the glass and not on top of the sand , that should require approx 30-50% less sand

How would putting your rock on top the sand cause you to need less sand for your sand depth?
