Already Cycling?

Hey Guys,
I have a 10g tank that I am making a saltwater tank. I know I'll need to upgrade the lighting (currently has default lighting that comes with from Walmart). I put live sand and the water (With salt mixed in) into the tank a week ago. No LR or fish. I didnt get a chance to get a shrimp until yesterday.
Should I put the shrimp in now? Or is my tank already cycling? How would I know if it was already cycling?

You should be testing for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates, that's how you can tell if the tank is cycling. Go and put the shrimp in, that will kick start your cycle.

I agree if you dont already have some you will need alot of test kits to come.
