Hello all at saltwater fish .com. I am going to try and make this as short as possible,and give you the information that I think you need to help me out. I am new to this hobby,have been reading the archives and the boards. I am sure there are many needed changes to make, and am looking forward to all replies.with that said I will try to explain my ideas. main tank-custom build 134 gal corner pentagon. measures 38x38x12x12x37 at 28in tall. It will be set up as a reef [sps-lps and fish]. the main tank will have dual overflow boxes measures 22 inch wide x 3 inch wide x 27 inch tall. two 1 inch dorso stand pipes through 1 inch bulkheads to the collection for the skimmer side of the sump. both of these drain lines will tee so as to set flow to skimmer side and to pump side of sump with ball valves on each. aprx 807 gph to skimmer side and aprx 168 gph to pump side from main tank. from tank #2 aprx 152 gph to the skimmer side and 148 gph to the pump side, for a total of 975 gph through the skimmer fuge. tank #2 12x12x36 set up as a specialty tank, will have a 6 inch x 2-1/2 x 11 inch tall corner overflow box with 1/2 inch dorso stand pipe feeding appx 148 gmh to the skimmer side and 152 gph to the pump side. total of 300 gph draining from tank # 2. the skimmer side of the sump is 12x28x18 inches tall built up 4 inches so as to gravity feed into the fuge. collection on skimmer side of sump is 8x12x16 inch tall [baffle highth 16 inches]over baffle one at 16 inch under baffle two at two inches off the bottom and then over baffle three at 16 inches into the skimmer compartment.[euro-reef 180 with sp-4 gen-x 4100. from there through a 2 inch bulkhead to a down turn into the fuge. total measurement, for fuge is 20x46x18 tall 71.69 gal, flooding. lol. baffle hight 16 inches.for a total of 63.72 gal. collection erea 8x6x16 then over single baffle into an erea 8x14x16 which may be kept dark.? 6 inch live sand bed, for worms, crabs, clams, etc? good idea or bad idea? then over another single baffle [devider] into an erea 8x26x16 for macro algae, caulerpa, cheato, ? then to the front of the fuge which is 12x40x16 tall which will have aprx 50 lb of live rock and 2 inches of live sand, and possibly more macro`s ? this erea will have a viewing glass in the front of the cabinet. then over one baffle at 16 inch under next at 2 inches from bottom then through a 2 inch bulkhead into collection erea of pump side of sump. collection erea is 8x10x18 with first baffle set at 8 inches high second bafle up 2 inches, third baffle set at 8 inches all baffles 3 inches apart.pump chamber measures 8x12x18 with water hight set at 8 inches. pumps-mag 5 for tank #2 est- 300 gph for a turnover in tank #2 of 15.27 gph gen-x pcx-70 rated at 1500 gph at 3 foot head for return on main tank. will split one inch pipe with whye into two then through bottom one inch bulkheads through overflow boxes over side to a depth of 12 inches.[useing dorso design] suction break. est 975 gph for a turnover of 8.14 from sump. incorperating a sequence barraccuda 4000 for closed loop rated at 3780 at 4 ft head. planing on splitting inch and a half returns with whye and going through two inch and a half bulkheads up about 8 inches whith a forty five degree exit and continuing up to 16 inches with another forty five degree at the end. est 2925 gph water movement from C/L with 975 gph from sump for a total of 3875 which should be about 32.37 turnover and water movement. this will give me four directions in tank with C/L and two with sump return. fuge at 955 gph should be 15 times per hour turnover. tank #2 at 300 should be 15.27 turnover per hour----.lighting -main tank three 400 watt single ended metal halides on individual ballast, with 14K bulbs. ? also 6-39 watt H.O.--- T-5 with individual reflectors, three switches to controll two bulb sets. I was thinking all six actonic blue. ? 8 1-watt moons. again sorry for the length of this, but wanted to make it as clear as possible. is this workable or should I go with something else.---- equipment list so far,euro reef r-s 180 skimmer, mag-5 return pump ,gen-x pcx-70 return pump, sequence barraccuda for closed loop, three M-H with individual ballast, 14K bulbs?, 6-39 wat H-O-T-5 ind reflectors three switches, 8 moons apx 200 LB live rock for main tank ? with inch and a half live sand, aprox 35 LB live rock for tank #2, also one inch live sand, aprx 90 Lb live rock for fuge with two inches live sand. six inch sand bed in chamber,???RO/DI- typhoon three, salifert test kit, phosphate test, alkilinity test, refractometer, ? heater, ? looking forward to hearing from you all. thanks again, Kevin. forgot this ---lights for tank # 2-- 4-39 watt H-O T-5
