Hello and welcome to the site.
First post and you spend it on something like this??? Oh well. At 18 you are old enough to wear whatever you want, as soon as you leave your parents home. As long as you are living at home, it's their rules so you will not be old enough until you are out from under their thumbs.
I personally don't like the dress.... That style on the top portion would look realy nice on a long prom dress, on a short bulky pleated bottom it just doesn't look good....just my opinion.

Hah, you're not looking for advice, you're looking for confirmation that you are making a good decision.
If you are still living with your parents, you need to give them the respect they deserve.
Besides, to me, that dress has date rape written all over it.
