I set up my 24 jbj with two timers one for moonlight and one for regular the regular light comes on from 7:30am til 10:30 pm basically the whole time i am up. Is that bad? How long is the recommended amount of light supposed to be? Thanks :D

It's a relative question..........depends on what you are maintaining. If you have FOWLR in your tank, turn the lights only when you want to see them
.....reef, you're talking about higher output lights, and I'd maintain a strict photo period of 6-10 hrs (depending on what you are keeping).
However, 15 hrs of light is too much for even humans
I'd turn them off and save some energy......

Ok I just switched my lighting schedule to 1pm-10:30ish pm. I guess the lighting schedule might have something to do with the bacteria and algae explosion i've had over a 2 day period. It's crazy. It also might explain the dark circles under my fishes eyes and the little coffe cups i found in there...ha bad joke :joy:
