Am I the only one that sees this as nasty?

Ok, so I am a smoker. But I don't get the smokers that if they have to run inside will put their cig on the ledge of a wall or on the sidewalk and comeback and smoke it. These same people wouldn't put a slice of cherry pie on the ground and eat it afterwards though.

I am no longer a smoker (thank goodness) BUT when I was, if that cig left my hand or sight.....it was history

And don't forget the cigars, pipes, and even blunts. I'm a smoker too, but I don't do that!

Never on the sidewalk or anyplace where people will walk, but I've been know to stick a cig in the crack in the mortar of the brick wall on the back of my office if I need to run inside for a minute.

Most of the smokers I see just drop the lit cigarette behind them on their way in and light another when they come back out.

Back when I smoked, as a teenager, I didn't like relighting a cig once I had smoked some of it, just tasted nasty to me. Cant do it with cigars either but a pipe is OK.

I dipped for years, I thought it was nasty then too. I'm just saying you could do grosser things than sticking your smoke on the mortar of a building.

I agree...but i guess I was amazed that the same people wont eat a chip they drop on the floor of their house...that was my point.

I'm a smoker...I've been known to toss a cigarette down, run inside for a few and then come back out, only to pick it up. Now, if the cigarette has gone out, touched anything, gotten wet, etc...I toss it.
I always inspect them, very well, before sticking them back in my mouth.
Juss sayin'...

Floor chips or cookies are fair game to snatch and eat, 5 second rule. But smoking a cigarette is as nasty as it comes, let alone a butt off the ground.

There are times a cigarette lit outside in the great outdoors smells good right away (maybe it's the match). I don't smoke and hate the smell in general.
I just wish people used their ashtrays or some other container when they are done rather than flicking them all over the place.
When I was in the military living in the dorms we had like a week out of the year where we had to take our turn cleaning the dorms up which including picking up butts out of the grass. Now picking up someone else's cigarette is by far one of the grossest things out there.
Smoke all you want -- I really don't care but don't be an animal and dispose of your trash properly.
