amazing sea life here in fl

I'm on vacation this week in Sanibel Island. The beach is teeming with wildlife. I even saw a school of orange spot filefish in the seaweed that was washed up by the storm last week. Picked up dozens of sand dollars (live ones) with my feet, not to mention these giant snails in conch shells all over the place, you can even see their eyes. Even picked up a tiger cowrie or 2, not to mention a ton of other interesting creatures. Then I went to a wildlife refuge and explored a ton of beautiful tropical jungle. There were a bunch of horshoe crabs. Its amazing how much I could relate to what. I know about aquariums and how I actually could understand so much more around me verses everyone else around me who just said "pretty fish", shrugged, and moved on where as I was appreciating knowing that there are sps corals nearby.... I know that its probably nothing for all you floridians seeing that every day, but its quite fascinating for me!
Funny how no matter what beach I go to, (was in the obx for a week with my family and in Sea Isle City, Nj for 3 days with my friends family...), I can always relate something to something I know about fish, aquariums, and related.

Hey traveler, I envy you hanging out at a beach. I remember my one trip to Cozumel, I snorkeled every day, it was like having a aquarium out side my door.

I was hanging out at Las Olas beach over in Lauderdale last Sunday. Damn fish kept biting my toes.
Looked sorta like fusilers, but then again a lot of fish have that general color/body shape.

I'm on the hunt for some healthy ones, I want to try a pair again before my husband comes up with something else to put in our fishless tank at the moment.
FYI, it's uncommon to see them in that area!
