sounds like it has not yet cycled, if you lost nothing recently, this is very possible
if htis is the case, you do not want to tdo changes, they will hold back your cycle

if the clown was in there any amount of thime, this may be your problem, the decomposing would drive up your ammonia, at least temporarily
especailly if you have cc and no skimmer or lr, the lr or dsb would help to break it down, and a skimmer would have helped to keep the nutrients down too

i will get a skimmer and hopefully this will help,i changed the 2 filters and did a water change, we'll see

One problem with breaking in a new tank with one small fish (your damsel) is that the bioload from one small damsel in a 75 gallon tank is not much. Therefore your tank cycled with a very small bioload. You then added a few more fish of larger size with probably was too much for the existing bacteria to handle.
As far as what to do now: I wouldn't do a water change. As stated above it will only delay the cycle. Thats exactly what you are in right now...a new cycle. Any way to remove the fish still left in the tank until your system comes to equilibrium again? Will the lfs take them back?

you can also try a product called stess zyme.. it should help speed up the process of bringing down the ammonia and help cycle the tank some.. just a suggestion.. i also agree that you need more that one fish to cycle a tank that size.. good luck though.. sorry about your clown <img src="graemlins//angel.gif" border="0" alt="[angel]" />

I agree with what was posted above.Your tank is probably just in a mini/recycle.This happens with new setups when a new/larger fish is added. It could only take a day or two for the bio system to readjust on it's own.But changing filters, and water changes WILL only prolong this process....1.5 is awfull high..Are you sure you read the test correctly???Could it maybe be .15??? You should also take a sample of your water to a fish store and have them test it just to be sure...
