why is amonia building in an established tank. Current on water changes. 7 fish and 1 invert in a 75 gal.

Either something died,or there is an overabundance of waste buildup in your filter media.It could also be from not enough circulation in the tank...Is there ammonia in the water you are using for changes??? Just a few ideas..
