Amount of Aragonite vs Live Sand?

I am now planning on converting my CC 46 Gal tank to a DSB. I believe I will need approx 110 lbs of sand to have at least 4". How much live sand is needed, just enough to cover the surface, or do I need a deeper layer of live sand?
Thanks

if i were you i wouldn't spent even that much on livesand. if your tank has already been established or if you already have lr in it, i would scoop out your cc, save it in a panty hose or the like of that and keep it in your tank for a few weeks. keep the established water too so you have your bio-filter. if you already have good lr in your tank there will be plenty of "lives" from it that went to the CC, so you wanna poke some holes in the pantyhose to let them out. the CC is also covered with good bacteria so you can keep that in there for awhile until your dead sand gets its own bacteria. if you don't have lr already get some good ones and that will seed your dead sand as well, or you can get a small amount of very established ls from someone's tank or garf (ls starter kit)
spending all that money on bags of plastic sealed "live" sand does not do you much good in my opinion
