I'm not sure where he came from or how he got there but we found him this afternoon in our tank we are setting up for sea horses. the live rock in the tank i borrowed from my 77 gal display tank thats been established for about 7 years and the last addition to the tank was a goby a mexican turbo snail and some blue legged hermit crabs about a month ago... I'm not expecting what type he is yet as he is only 1/4 inch big so far and hard to get good pics of lol i'm more intereted in how you think he made it here...
Just to add to the mystery I just found another one... thats two the same size now....

It's an asterina star. A harmless hitcher. That is as large as they will get. They will multiply quite easily, which is why some people consider them to be problematic. They almost always have the odd number of odd length legs.

ok cool he other one was more star like... 5 legs all the same length, but they are different from the ones in my 77, the ones in my 77 have very skinny legs and don't have color on top...

Don't see a picture for the second star ID, but long skinny legs makes me think micro brittle star. If so, Awesome hitchhiker!
