The US. Because I won't have to work to make a living. The government will just give me money and I'll live off of it. And so will my kids, and grandkids.

Meowzer, I thought you said you loved living in the country?

I'de still live in the US. I was born poor, I have lived poor, and I make below the poverty level already - but I know that I have a much higher standard of living than I may in other countries. I also have more opportunities to advance myself, by education, by leadership skills and by experience...

Do you know what the poverty level is considered?

The United States, east coast. Topsail Island, NC to be specific. I'd survive just fine, although the taste of Bluefish might get old...

BTL, I would pick the U.S...for one reason. I have lived in many countries around the world. I feel the U.S. gives me the best chance to elevate my standard of living to a higher level.
I find it interesting......the majority of the countries chosen have capitalistic societies.....yet capitalism is demonized and currently being protested by many........yet when given a choice of where to live as a poor person....most will always pick a capitalist country...and a greater majority of those capitalist countries picked is the U.S.A..
why is that?
Discuss.

Wasn't this on Rush Limbaugh last week?
Answer: Any western country that has embraced capitalism and democracy so that the poor person had the freeddom to strive and achieve prosperity.

Yup. And I still make a little less than that for a 2 person household.
I work for my dad and my wife is a college student. I can't wait till she gets a job! Next year woot woot!
I might be poor but I know how to save and manage my money very well. That's how I get to have a saltwater aquarium!

I should have asked for clarification as to the time frame. I assumed the current time, today.
Pre Obama, Post Obama reelection or Post Obama defeat are three different answers.

I find it interesting that self determination is nearly universally applauded, yet much too often, the populus is so easily persuaded towards servitude.

it is possible. the question came from a discussion i was having with my dad. I know he listens to rush. we lived in europe for many years and he asked me if i would rather live there as a poor person or here. told i felt i had a better chance here due to tax laws and such. plus the ability to be come successful. look at where the fortune 500 people live. that is all i need to know.
