It's a Goinaster tessellatus... The only known G. tessellatus in captivity.

That is totally sick. Im assuming that it changes colors in the light then? Yea, why is it the only one in captivity? Cuz you just happen to be a millionare? lol

It seems to like shrimps and sponges. :D Good thing I have plenty of bonth on my tank.
The only logic reason that I have been able to find is that they are deep water stars mainly found in 132+ depths. And the only specimens known of this star have been found be dragging nets along depth bottoms. I guess it's kill them all. I have contacted several well known enchindermologist and they tell me the same thing, but don't want it for research because they want several species.
I was lucky enough to find this one in 54 ft of water.

No it doesn't this the lighting I have in the tank. 550 watts of MH and VHOs will change the color of anything that would be taken with a flash, different luminocity.
And I'm a poor dive instructor and student.
