Anemone ate Blue Leg Hermit Crab

I got some hermit crabs (scarlet and blue leg) yesterday, 20 of each. One of the blue ones came close to my Long Tentacle and it reached down and grabbed it. I Tried to free my crab and then anemone put the entire thing in his mouth. Is it normal for them to eat something like that in a hard shell.
Just wondering if anyone else has herd of this. I don't want to loose all my crabs that try to clean the rock around it.

never heard of this... did it spit out the shell?

shortly after it did poop some stuff out but it didn't look like it was the same size as it was when it went in, LOL
