Anemone behavior - Odd?

My brother called me and told me that his rock flower anemone had been spitting white stuff out into the tank causing the tank to be very cloudy.. he said the anemone usually lays flat on the rock its on.. but he said today it and another rock anemone both were standing up tall.. we were wondering if maybe the white stuff could be eggs or sperm? Or something else? Is a water change necessary?

It is probably sperming. A large water change (25-40%) and throwing in a fresh batch of carbon would keep things in order.
