anemone bleaching

I keep coming across threads that talk about anemone bleaching or bleached anemones. What does this mean? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?

If anemones are kept out of light for extended periods of time they start to lose their zooxanthelle which causes them to lose color and become white. This is very bad One of my anemones had been out of the light for over a month trapped in my overflow box which turned him completely white. He is slowly trying to recover.
