Anemone BTA Looks disgusting.

I have a medium size BTA and a few days ago I fed a cube of brine shrimp not intentionaly but the clown grabbed it and shove it in the anemones mouth. Since then the BTA has been deflated and is floating at the top of the tank. It has not lost any tentacles but it just looks plain awful. It's foot is still attached to the glass and it's almost all shriviled up. My question is should I remove it from the tank? Is it going to recover? It was doing fine for almost 2 months.

How long has your been looking bad? What are you going to do? I don't want to get rid of mine if it has a chance to recover.

sorry to hear that...just a note- you probably shouldnt feed the anemone a whole cube! it only should be fed a piece the size of an eraser on a pencil IMO

why not feed a half a cube? is it bad for it?What if it takes the food in and eats it really quick?

Just wondering, are you all dropping the actual frozen cube of food into your tank? When I feed, I always thaw the cube first and then squirt it into the tank. No big chunks, everyone gets their share..

That does not look like a dead BTA to me. It appears to be searching for a location, and in the location it is now it could quickly be in big trouble.... the heater, and PH are on either side of it.
These anemone's prefer rock and if you can place it where it can wedge its foot into a hole in a rock it has a better chance of staying put. The BTA will still move if it does not like the water flow or lighting in the location you put it.

It was real dead after I took this picture. The picture is from 24 hours before he died. I will never throw a cube of brine in the tank again. The clown grabbed it and shoved it down the anemone's throat. He was fine and doing great before he was fed that cube. I always let the shrimp thaw out before this. I don't know what got into me.

I usually take half of the cube, then cut it in half again and put it in tank so it spreads out so fish/coral gets it..then the other piece of little cube I give it directy to the anemone. I dont know if thats a bad thing but it grabs it quick and I can feel the sticky tentacles grabbing right from my fingers. My clown doesnt seem to feed it.
