My Anemone Crab that I bought just today lost his front claw in the transfer. It was the bigger one. Should I be concerned.

Heck no, just maintain your calcium and iodine and it will come back in a few molts. Mine is missing two claws and a leg :)

They grow back??? Really???
Do all crabs have that ability? Man you lear something new every day! They grow back....hugh who would have guessed.
It was very sad though. He ran over to the glass as if to see himself. Took his back leg and was investigating the lost claw. I could tell the look on his face...
"O'Sh*t...where the hell is my claw. It was there a second ago the big guy moved me into this tank and whammo---no claw! It must be this new tank...is that a peppermint shrimp? Go away pepper cant you see I am having one of those lost a claw days..."

Don't worry about anything bothering him, they don't even use those claws from what I understand. They are filter feeders, so make sure you add something like Kent Phytoplex for him to eat. I add that and Zooplex to my tank for my filter feeders.

Oh, and I believe that all crabs do have that ability. My emeralds have lost and regained legs and I have had shrimp who have lost claws and then regained them after a molt.
