Mine mostly filter feed and I give them strong light as well. But I like to watch them devour a gold fish once a week. If the gold fish gets away from them, my eal jumps on it in seconds! I think I read somewhere that it is healthy to feed them live fish once a week anyway.
Mostly my BTA filter feeds(plus my tomato clown brings it treats at feeding time)...once a month or so I direct feed mine some fresh scallop sliced thin.........
