Anemone Hosting a Domino damsel????

My domino damsel has seem to take aliking to my rose bubble tip anemome...Has any one heard of this...And now what do i do when i get a pair of clowns i have been waiting for, will they show the damsel whos boss an let them host it??? Please help

hi, can be common yes. Domino's are one of the few that do that. About your other question- Depends on the species of clowns you get and how big your damsel is, and the clown size. More than likely that domino will defend that anemonie to the death,and not let the clowns host. Clowns are finecky enough to get to host, you don't need a stupid domino screwin up your plans.(no offence) If you want your clowns to host, get rid of the domino for sure. But do as you will. Thanx guyz i would get read of the domino but, there is one problem that is my g/f favorite fish lol, Maybe i will jus have to wait till i get my reef setup for my perfect anemone an clown story

You have an RBTA in a 15 gallon? How long have you had it and how is it doing (except for the damsel :D )

Yep it can and does happen,
Do people forget that clownfish are in the damsel family?

it was doin awsome for the past few dayz... i woke up this morning an it was deflated almost looking dead...i think its a lighting issue i have 1 24" flourescent tube an three 15watt incandescent bulbs ....i quickly chnaged out the three 15's for house hold 75watts to try to revive him...Can ne one help me with the 75 watts r working that cant be permant it will be too hott

:rolleyes: Oh my, oh my. Tell me this can't be true? How long has the rose been alive? Even on a 20 gal. you need good reef lighting. You need around 110 ATLEAST to keep that anemonie alive. And it can't be regular light bulbs. You need actinics, and 10,000k ideally. Give me your email, and I can email you a CHEAP place to get power compacts reef lighting. Halides are ideal, but it looks like money may be an issue. No offence on my comments, it's just that that poor anemonie is sufferin, and you need to be a good parent and get some lighting for it before it dies.-Ali
