Anemone id

Hello,
I hope I do this right. Havent really used photobucket before to post a picture.
I could use an ID on these anemones. It was the closest pic I could take with my camera. These came on a piece of LR I got. I have a feeling I know what they are but thought I would see if anyone else would confirm my suspicions. I am hoping they arent one of the pest anemone's because they actually look pretty cool. Sort of like zoos.

Very difficult to tell imo, I would say aptasia or some type of paly...

I have seen a fair amount of aptasia and it wouldnt be that IMO. What is a paly? Are they considered a pest?
Wish I could get a more close up shot with my camera so would be easier to see.

A paly is a type of coral and isn't considered a pest. It looks more like a paly to me than aptasia. It looks to colorful to be aptasia.

LOL. you have Palythoa in your pic, lower left hand side cinnamon colored. Its either a palythoa or a Parazoanthus species IMO. Both are part of the zoanthid family.

LOL, Oh yes. In the lower left of the pic is some sort of Zoo. I was asking about the guys in the middle of the pic.
I agree with CoralKeeper as well that they are too brightly colored for aptasia.
Well in any event I guess I will see what they do. I like the way they look.
What is more concerning to me though after looking at my own picture is the little pieces of bubble algae starting to form. I have had a bad hair algae problem and now I guess I get bubbles too. Ahh, the never ending battles. lol

I think we are getting a bit confused here. You originally asked what was in the middle of your pic, I said I thought it was a paly. You said what is a paly? I said you have some in the lower left part of the same pic, just so you knew to look at them as refrence to the ones in the middle. There are a number of different types of palythoa and Parazoanthus. IMO you have one of those types in the middle of your pic. All are a part of the zoanthid family.

Thank you for the clarification. Yes, I am easily confused. Seems to happen more and more often the older I get. Go figure.
Well, I am glad to discover these little guys are good. I know I all ready have a couple of aptasia to deal with and I wasnt going to look forward to having to deal with another kind of pest anemone as well.
Thanks again for the explanation and I will look up your reference names so I can better educate myself.
