I have a 14g bio cube with a 24watt 10k and a 24 watt tru actinic. Parameters are perfect and my corals and 2 true percs are lovin life. I was wondering if i could get an anemone, preferably a small GBTA or RBTA. If i cant, are there any other anemones that 2 true percs would host?

I have been told that almost all anemones need high light, like a MH or similar. They can survive, mine did BTA in a 24g nano for 2 months perfectly, but thats not long enough for light deficiency to really kill it I don't think. But all in all, most everyone here will say, no, with standard nanocube lighting in the long run an anemone will perish. Sorry.

I honestly could not say on that. As far as my LFS it will live (they have been grossly wrong before) as far as the technical side it will be VERY unhappy (although in the time mine was there it was GREAT!)

I tried a Pink Tip in my 12 gallon Nano, quite a lousy decision. It arrived looking rather small in the plastic bag. The next morning it had "blossomed" and was freaking huge. Over the course of a week or so it drifted to various places in the tank, stinging other sessile tank mates on the way.I lost a red sea fan and a few polyps before it finally drifted too close to the filter intake and took the big dirt nap.

i would say having an anemone in a 14g tank is not a good choice, you need stronger lighting than just the stock lighting for an anemone, including the sebae

i have a BTA in a 24 gal aquapod and he has been doing fine for 4 months now. If he wants light I expect him to get out from under the shaded ledge before he starts complaining!

See like I said, by the books no, but you can do it like many have before! Just becareful of the size you get. You can get one from a LFS that is tiny when in their tanks and when happy in your tank is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you can start with small GBTA because RBTA is more expensive. This will be a good host for your clown. Just make sure your clown is not too big.
As far as light, you may be OK with what you have because some GBTA don't like strong light.
Make sure you get GBTA from LFS that don't use MH on their GBTA (because you don't have MH). So it won't be a shock for light deficiency.
Also make sure you have a good flow in your tank, most GBTA like low flow.
Most important, maintain your water param because this is may be hard to maintain on a small tank. And this is the key for keeping anenome alive and well beside feeding it.
If your anenome grow then you can upgrade your tank. Good luck.

While I think you would be ok for a while I dont agree with the above. It isnt that BTA's dont like high lighting MH etc. its more that they can survive for a while without it. Ultimatly high intensity lighting is a requirement for all anenomes to thrive for an extended period of time. Combining a 14 gal nano with an anemone and other corals perhaps or fish IMO is bad news. BTA's even ones that seem small can get very big once inflated almost 3x their original size. I think your anemone will spend alot of time looking for a good place to reside where lighting, flow and food is pleantiful and it feels safe and secure. Due to the small confines of a 14 gal nano, that process could take a while and in the meantime stress the animal out.
The fact that we are talking about a month or 4 months with sucess is negligable when it comes to how well this animal will make out. You may see sucess for 6 months to a year (if your lucky). There is a very low sucess rate with these animals surviving in these types of tanks for longer than a year. While I have my reservations as to how long anemones live, and why they split, I feel that year is not considered success. But thats just MO...
