Anemone/ lighting

I recently had an outbreak of dinoflagellates or diatoms.....whatever they're called. It's the brown crap that covers everything else in the aquarium lol. So I've been having the lights on for only about 4 hours a day and have been putting less food in to try to starve them out. My pink haittian anemone seems to have shrunk up quite a lot. Is this because of less lighting? anything i can do?

Most likely due to lights. Find out where your diatom problem is coming from. Maybe use one of those phosphate sponges.
