Anemone on the move

I had a bubble tip and he moved to the overflow tank and part of him got sucked in the slits and tor and died. I got another one and placed him on the other side of the tank. For a few days he attatched himself to the tank wall, and now is moving all over my rocks. Do they do this? and my clown fish hosted the old one but wont touch this one. ???

As far as the moving goes ... yes they will move to find an area that they like. Most of the time they do not move "very gracefully" and that is most likely the reason it ended up in your overflow tank. It wants to find the correct lighting conditions and flow. Don't worry, just keep it away from high speed, moving parts

Okay, i know i was so sad when the other one died, i tried to help him but so much of him was sucked in. Any idea on the clown fish not touching him yet, or do i jsut give it time?

Thanks. you ahve helped me a lot today. But on what i was talking about the fuge, i have a sump under my stand, but your saying that the hanging ones arent good.

They just do not have the volume, in my opinion, to grow the pods. You could easily add a side tank on your sump and have a little pod heaven
going in no time flat. Hope it helps. :jumping:

Lost snow...
My anemone was also moving.. But in wierd places.. he was acting as though he wasnt digging the tank.. I moved him to the other side where the clowns were.. I placed him on a peice of live rock and he instantly took to it.. theres a hole in the middle of the rock.. he stuck his foot in there and puffed out to the fullest!!! Hasnt moved or anything.. So I guess it just all depends on if you pick a spot they like!!! I noticed alot of them dont like to sit in the sand!! and a hard surface is more their style... You can try but be careful not to hurt him or yourself!!! This is just my opinion! Good luck though~!

I had the exact same thing happen a few years ago. Huge bta decided to move up to the overflow during the night, and when I woke up, it had torn itself to shreds. I took me an hour to clean out all the gunk from the overflow and teeth....
