Anemone-Only Tank?

So my roommate's got an 8 gallon biocube that's been set up for about 4 months. He doesn't know anything about saltwater stuff, but his dream is to have just a big anemone in there with a couple clowns. If there were just a couple rocks how big of an anemone could you fit in an 8 gallon? Like a purple carpet or somethin tight like that...

no carpets or anemones in a tank that small.. why not just go with corals?

Agree , a small tank like that will never be stable enough for any hosting anemone and will outgrow it fast .

He'll wake up one day to an anemone crawling on him looking for more room, if it could thrive in a tank that small....

On top of the points already made, he would have to do water changes every few days just to keep the tank clean enough with an anemone in it... I would tell him it's best to stick to basic reef.

ha alright, yea i was pretty sure it wouldnt work but he wanted to know for sure. we'll just keep it real with some coral n clowns or somethin. i've always wanted to try a seahorse...

Seahorses are awesome, but they are definitely a creature on which a LOT of homework needs to be done, first. I would love to keep a seahorse tank, but they take far more maintenance than I have time for.

Same here , I would love to have a tank for seahorses . I`d have to get rid of a few tanks to keep up with a horse tank .
