Anemone Question

I have had a Curly Q Anemone in my 125 gallon tank for almost a year now and it has always remained in the same place, until tonight. He moved to a lower part of the tank and his foot is all twisted. I dont mean just a couple of times, it looks like it is almost tied in knots it is twisted so many times. The foot is usually about as thick as a nickel and now due to the twists it is as smaller than a pencil. Is there anything i should do? I tried to move it, but is seems to be attached to he piece of rock it is near. I tried to feed it and it looks like the mysis just came out of its trunk just above the foot and below the crown....what should i do.

now there is two parts, the head and the foot!! The head is not fully open, but was under a small rock out of the light and the foot is back to its normal shape, just without the head. I moved the rock so the head could get more light.....does anyone have an opinion as to what is happening?

I hope it did not die. I heard that they do not split but that could be wrong. Good luck, I hope someone knows.

Ok the head part of the anemone it totally gone, but the foot is still connected to a rock and has started to get little arms? Tonight the new crown portion is about .25 inches long. I thought i would try and give it some mysis to see what it would do. To my surprise it took it!! It seems as though the anemone has lost its head and is now growning a new one, is this at all possible?

I am new to this, but was looking into the anemone that I have. I have been reading about how they reproduce. The internet says it will most like split down the middle, but occasionally may leave a piece of its foot attached to something and the remainder of the anemone will move away and give the small piece room to grow. Hope this is what it is doing! And yes, pics would be nice if you can.

I tried to get a picture tonight, but do to the location of the foot i cant get one to turn out clear. The foot part is starting to take shape, and is definately alive, as for the other part from the original anemone, i havent noticed it anywhere in the tank. If this was a split, i dont think both parts survived.
