anemone shrinking

my carpet gets small sometimes and then big again. whats goin on? had em for about 2 days now

It is normal for anemones to get small at night
--- mine do anyway.

I have a long tenacle that is this way. His foot is every bit of 4in around. And when opened he is huge. Sometimes he will be so shrunk up I almost can not reconize him. He's been in my tank for about 6 months now and he is still eating like a champ. So I would'nt worry about it. But I cannot explain why.
