Anemone stinging clown?

I have a carpet anemone and a percula pair. When I first introduced them all, it was about a week apart. This was 3-4 months ago. At first neither would go near the carpet. Not astonishing, but I thought they would take up quicker. The first to take the plunge was the female. After several days of attempting to bond with the anemone she abandoned the idea and hasnt been back since. Where before she had a flawless colors, she then had black splotches on her. They are just starting to disappear, barely.
After looking around I read an article that described something similar (I believe on deleted), someone thought it was the clown getting stung. Not life threatening though. Since then the male has taken to the anemone, swimming through it and sleeping in it. Though it never gets ito it like my last pair and anemone, which was a maldives clarkiis (black since birth) and a green carpet. They would both lounge all day in it and rub themselves stupid with it. As well they would both clean and feed it. This time around is different with one not going anywhere near it (and sleeping in the top right corner of the tank) and then other half-heartidly sybiotic with it. Neither will fedd it either let alone clean it. Both eat and act healthy.
Does anyone have any insight into their behavior and also about the markings? If you do not know for sure, please do not guess about the markings and state it as fact, that will not help much...I've already guessed so I have that covered!
Thanks again.
I have attached a pic that shows the markings. This IS NOT a pic of my female fish, just a pic I found which I marked up similar to the markings as I am at work and didnt have time to take a pic before work.

Yep its called Hyper Melaninization, it is usually the result of any type of coral or anemone that posesses the nematocysts stinging cells, sometimes these reactions take place and leave those black marks.

Great, thanks for the confirmation. It must have really freaked her out as she will go nowhere near the anemone now. Will these clear up, and do you think she will ever be able to go back into the anemone?
