Anemone stings

I know that clown fish are immune to the sting of an anemone but what would happen to another fish that gets stung?
I just bought some anemones, fish and some other stuff that arrived yesterday...I did the drip acclimation and everyone looked good. This morning when I woke up one of the chromis' had a vertical red line down it's side and it was swimming off to the side of the tank. I was going to set up another tank to seperate it but I had to run some errands first and when I got home a hermit crab was munching on it :(

Its possible, what type of anemone's did you buy? A red line on the fish sounds more like something internal, like an injury. Yes any fish even an anemone fish is suceptable to an anemones stings but there are some anemones that are far worse than others.

I got a bubble tip and a curly q. I can't figure out what else it could have been? I have 3 hydor koralia #4's, could it get stuck to the side of one of those? I don't think they suck that hard, but idk??

Tough to say with a new fish. It could of been injured before hand, while getting bagged, during shipping etc... signs may not of become visible until it entered your tank. Acclimation shock is may also have played a role and didnt help the situation. And no your power heads are not strong enough to suck in a "healthy" fish. But certainly something that can happen to a sick fish.
