Anemone won't open up

My anemone has gone inside his body and won't come out. Why is this?

Many possible reasons. More info is needed to figure out.

1) How old is the tank/how long has he been in the tank
2) lighting
3) water quality

What type of anenome too? I wouldnt be too concerned about the lighting just yet if he was ok in your tank in the past. But the type of anenome and its behavior before it closed up will help.
